The post holder has a distinct level of responsibility to patients with dermatological issues including skin cancer / in providing a comprehensive specialist nursing service to the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, working within a team of advanced clinical nurses. The post holder will work in conjunction with
the existing Skin Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists and specifically provide advanced dermatological nursing care to patients with local and advanced cancer. To assist in the provision of professional and clinical leadership and expertise in the dermatological care of the patient with cancer acting as a resource and consultant to provide information and support to patients, carers and staff

1.2. To contribute to the formulation of policies and patient information.
1.3. To liaise effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary health care team to achieve a synchronized specialist service.
1.4. To help deliver teaching on specialist course, diploma and degree courses, as well as informal one-to-one teaching with staff

2.1To sustain a high-quality specialist service for the patient, from diagnosis through all stages of the disease. In particular to provide support, education, and counselling advice on treatment related issues with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
2.2To collaborate with Cancer Care teams, both within The Trust and with primary and acute care providers to ensure a streamlined patient-centred care pathway.
2.3In collaboration with the Lead Nurse, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Clinical Nurse Specialists, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team, formulate and/or revise relevant policies and guidelines, and to regularly review them following changes/implementation. To always work within the policies and procedures of The Trust.
2.4To sustain a high-quality specialist service for patients suffering from cutaneous side effects of systemic cancer treatments.

Flu Vaccination – What We Expect of our Staff
At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.
The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
