PT/Days

For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus for all eligible experienced Registered Nurses with 0-2 years of experience and $20,000 for experienced Registered Nurses with more than 2 years of experience!

Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a full or part-time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for part-time hires; per diem hires are ineligible.

Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth members are ineligible until more than 6 months of separation from employment.

Unit Bio: The Surgical Oncology unit cares for various specialties, including complex Upper and Lower GI, GYN Oncology, and Head and Neck. It also serves as an acute medical/surgical unit with 12 Intermediate Level Care beds. The nursing staff foster an environment that values excellence, teamwork, and peer support. Staff collaborate with leadership in a shared governance model, and the unit encourages professional development. Staffing practices support 12-hour shifts and flexible scheduling for weekends and holidays.

Summary: The Clinical Nurse supports Maine Medical Center's mission, vision, and values through excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, patient and family-centered care, community commitment, and accountability. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of nursing care, which may be provided across inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and community settings.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  1. Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Current RN license in Maine; specialty certification preferred.
  3. Experience: Meets all requirements of Clinical Nurse I; inpatient experience preferred, especially in med/surg, telemetry, IMC, or oncology.
  4. Knowledge of nursing practices, principles, and processes.
  5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Analytical skills to monitor patient conditions and initiate appropriate responses.
  7. Ability to manage crisis situations involving patients and families.
  8. Demonstrates caring nursing practice and promotes healing environments.
  9. Technical skills to care for various patient populations on the unit.
