Day shift - 08 Hours (United States of America). May be assigned to multiple sites: Castro Valley (Primary), Emeryville, and Pleasanton.

A Brief Overview

The Clinical Nurse (CN) is an RN who provides hands-on care to patients, practicing in an evidence-based manner within the Scope of Practice of the California Nursing Practice Act, regulatory requirements, standards of care, and hospital policies. The CN performs all steps of the nursing process, including assessing patients, interpreting data, planning, implementing, and evaluating care, coordinating with other providers, and teaching patients and families. The CN partners with the patient's family to deliver family-centered care, monitors the quality of nursing care, and is responsible for their own professional development, including licensure and BLS certification. The CN may also contribute to the profession through teaching and sharing expertise.

What You Will Do

  5. Obtains and interprets assessment data, determines diagnoses, and monitors patient status.
  6. Planning and Implementing Therapeutic Interventions
  7. Develops care plans with patients and families, implements interventions, and evaluates their effectiveness.
  8. Teaching and Coaching
  9. Assesses learning needs, teaches self-care and illness prevention, and educates staff.
  10. Managing Rapidly Changing Situations
  11. Responds quickly to emergencies and identifies the need for protocols.
  12. Monitoring Healthcare Practices
  13. Ensures safety and quality in nursing practices, seeking continual improvement.
  14. Organization and Work Management
  15. Prioritizes tasks, delegates appropriately, and participates in team activities.
  16. Education and Leadership
  17. Maintains current knowledge, demonstrates leadership, and evaluates practice standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • At least 6 months of outpatient or inpatient RN experience.
Licenses and Certifications
  • California RN license
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification
Physical Demands and Work Conditions

Frequent exertion, including lifting, bending, and walking. Work involves risks such as exposure to contagious diseases, radiation, or emotionally disturbed patients. Protective gear may be required.

Blood Borne Pathogens

Category I - tasks involving exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.

Base pay scale: Typically starting at $92.64 - $106.87 per hour. Final salary depends on various factors, including experience and education.
