The NICU-CCN in The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital is a 51-bed unit. This is the largest ICU in the state of Maine. The NICU is a 31-bed level lll-lV. The Continuing Care NICU is a 20-bed step-down unit that is attached to the NICU and provides level II neonatal care. We have single rooms with state-of-the-art equipment and work closely with all disciplines- surgical, cardiac, GI, genetics, renal, palliative care etc. We have Neonatologists, Pediatricians, and Advanced Practice Providers covering 24/7 with a nursing staff of 180.
Position Summary

In accordance with national standards of nursing practice and within the guidelines and policies and procedures of both Maine Medical Center and the Maine State Board of Nursing, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of the effects of nursing care. Care delivery and coordination of patient and family care begins with the initial contact with the health care system and may continue across the continuum. Services may be provided on an inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and/or community basis.
