Job summary

Premier Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Inpatient General Surgery Unit at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. The full-time shift runs 7am–7:30pm with a 72-hour pay period and includes a sign-on bonus.

The RN will advocate for patients and families, applying nursing processes to provide safe, evidence-based care in a multidisciplinary team. Education requirements include BSN or plan to obtain within 5 years; Ohio RN license and AHA BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN required or must obtain within 5 years of hire.
• RNs with a minimum of 2 years acute care hospital experience may elect to forgo the BSN requirement with a MOU.
• Valid Ohio RN license and current AHA BLS certification at hire.

The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse (RN) who partners with and advocates for patients/families/significant others to provide physical, emotional and spiritual support which impacts patient outcomes in a safe environment. The RN functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence and autonomy in the practice of Nursing. The RN utilizes the nursing process in conjunction with evidence-based principles to care for a diverse caseload of patients within the department scope of service. The RN serves as guide, healer, collaborator, teacher, leader and sentry. The RN collaborates with and guides care delivered by the inter-professional team. The RN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, Nursing Code of Ethics and applicable regulatory standards.

Education

• Graduation from accredited school of nursing; BSN required or must obtain within 5 years of hire. Proof of enrollment required within 6 months of hire.
• RNs with min. 2 years of acute care hospital experience may elect to forgo the BSN requirement and sign a Professional Certification MOU which must be obtained with 3 years of hire.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Valid Ohio RN license
• Current AHA BLS certification required at the time of hire.
