Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager (RN) for the Vascular Intermediate Care Unit (Stepdown) in Norfolk, VA. The role has full-time hours and requires BSN and Virginia RN licensure with BLS within 90 days of hire.

You will lead a 24-bed stepdown unit, supervise nursing staff, drive safety and quality outcomes, and manage budgeting and payroll processes while promoting exceptional patient and family experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred.
• Licensed registered nurse in Virginia (RN).
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum 2 years in a leadership RN role or equivalent.

Supervises patient care services staff, ensures excellent patient safety and quality outcomes as well as extraordinary patient/family experience. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, developing and retaining staff with the goal of developing a highly reliable team. Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills to achieve unit and corporate goals. Assists in the development and monitoring of unit budget, coordinates purchasing and payroll processes and serves as a clinical resource to team members.What we are:9 Kaufman is a 24-bed stepdown intermediate care unit that specializes in vascular surgery, telemetry and renal/pancreas transplant patients. 9 Kaufman is part of the Surgical Specialty Team at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (SNGH). Staffing is comprised of RNs, LPNs, NCPs (nursing care partners) and UAs (unit ambassadors) and CSAs (clinical support associates).What we do:Some of 9 Kaufman's vascular surgeries include aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, femoral bypass surgeries and amputations. 9 Kaufman is an extension of the renal/pancreas transplant team to include the outpatient transplant center and all the nurses on 9 Kaufman are specially trained and can sit for the PCCN certification which we will help you obtain. All the beds on 9 Kaufman are monitored beds. 9 Kaufman cares for a variety of patients with telemetry needs, providing an environment conducive to extensive learning and skill development.
