Job description


Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, a Level II Trauma, Magnet designated organization, is seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager of the OR (Intraoperative). Join a dedicated team of high performing, engaged, clinicians averaging around 45 cases daily, with near 10,000 cases annually. The Surgical team continuously seeks to learn new technology and skills. Our teams are cross trained to all specialties, except open heart, where a designated team performs these specialized cases. The ideal candidates possess minimally three (3) years of RN OR experience.



The Nurse Manager has administrative accountability for leading, managing, developing, supervising, and evaluating all aspects of patient care. Manages and collaborates relationships with leadership members, physicians, for the care of responsible patient populations. Assures professional, clinical, and educational excellence in the provision of quality care to patients. Facilitates empowerment of staff in the implementation of creative and innovative patient care delivery models and stimulates a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach in the continuous improvement of patient care services. Assumes responsibility for fiscal management of the unit.




EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN)

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting

  • Demonstration of progressive nursing leadership in roles for example Charge Nurse, Assistant Clinical Manager, House Manager, Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Unit Leader and Chairperson of a Shared Governance Council/Committee or interdisciplinary team (not limited to these examples)

  • Knowledge of quality management and service excellence

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills that provides coaching and facilitation expertise

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Demonstrates innovative, creative leadership style



CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES:



  • Current license to practice in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse

  • BCLS/ACLS certification as required per unit standards



PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:



  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, Health Management, or other related field

  • ANCC recognized nursing specialty certification; Professional Certifications to support a culture of nursing excellence

  • Minimum of three (3) years Operating Room experience preferred
