The position requires an Illinois RN license, a BSN, 5+ years in nursing with 3+ in leadership, BLS, and NIHSS certification. Expect day shifts with potential for weekend/nights based on department needs.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Illinois is required.
• BSN required; MSN or MHA preferred.
• 5+ years of clinical nursing with at least 3 years in a supervisor/leadership role.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
• NIHSS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership to nursing staff and ensure adherence to protocols, safety standards, and quality of care.
• Supervise and mentor RNs, LPNs, and CNAs; coordinate staffing and evaluations.
• Ensure compassionate, patient-centered care and address patient/family needs promptly.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives, audits, and compliance efforts to improve patient outcomes.
• Manage unit resources, including staffing and budgets, and control costs within the unit.
• Facilitate ongoing education and training for nursing staff; stay current with healthcare developments.
• Oversee accurate documentation of patient assessments and care plans in EHR; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and ancillary services to optimize patient care.

Hourly Pay Range: $50.64 - $78.49 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Position: Clinical Nurse Manager - ICU + IMCU
• Location: Chicago, IL
• Full time/Part time: Full Time, 40 hours/week
• Hours: Day shift (Monday-Friday), but flexibility required as hours can vary based on department needs. Management responsibilities will include weekend/nights and holidays as needed.

What you will do

• Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to established clinical protocols, safety standards, and quality of care. Monitor patient care activities to maintain quality and safety.
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. Coordinate staff schedules, assignments, and performance evaluations. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Ensure the delivery of compassionate, patient-centered care. Address patient and family concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives, audits, and compliance efforts. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance patient outcomes.
• Efficiently manage unit resources, including staffing, supplies, and equipment. Assist in budget planning and control expenses within the unit.
• Facilitate ongoing education and training for nursing staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge. Keep abreast of the latest developments in healthcare.
• Oversee accurate and complete documentation of patient assessments, care plans, and interventions in electronic health records.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures. Maintain a safe and sanitary patient care environment.
• Collaborate with other departments, including physicians, case managers, and ancillary services, to coordinate patient care and optimize the patient experience.

What you will need

• Bachelors Degree Nursing Required; Masters Degree Nursing Preferred Or Masters Degree Health Administration Preferred
• 5+ Years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Illinois
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
• NIHSS Certification
