Job description

Overview

Location: Vista Oncology
Pay Range: $73,486.40 - $144,248.00

Key Responsibilities
  • KPA 1 – Clinical Knowledge: Maintains oncology nursing knowledge, manages clinical operations, liaises with Office Manager, communicates with external entities, supports clinical trials, oversees chemotherapy and special procedures, ensures compliance with drug preparation and medication dispensing, coordinates purchasing, participates in CNM meetings, collaborates with R-DON and Occupational Health.
  • KPA 2 – Leadership: Trains staff, manages daily workflow, schedules nurses, medical assistants, lab and pharmacy technicians, leads staff meetings, participates in hiring, orients new hires, conducts performance evaluations, provides coaching, handles disciplinary documentation, approves time‑off requests, and submits timesheets.
  • KPA 3 – Education and SOPs: Distributes educational resources, reviews clinical activities, directs staff to teach patient education, assembles patient education packets, maintains oncology nurse certification, ensures adherence to JBIs.
  • KPA 4 – Compliance and SOPs: Protects patient and employee confidentiality, enforces legal and company policies, and administers disciplinary action when required.
  • KPA 5 – Communication and Customer Service: Communicates policy changes to the clinical team, remains current on oncology updates, maintains positive relationships with company employees, and promotes a cooperative work environment.
Qualifications
  • Unencumbered RN license in the state of employment (multi‑state licensure acceptable).
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Oncology Nurse certification (OCN) required.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid state Driver’s License (travel to satellite offices and off‑site meetings).
  • Compliance with driver safety operations and motor vehicle records check policy.
  • Five (5) years of healthcare experience in a clinic or hospital setting.
  • Three (3) years of management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Valid drive record and ability to travel less than 25% of standard work days.
