Lower Eastside Service Center seeks a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to dispense medications and provide clinical support in New York, NY. The role includes initial medical assessments, vital signs monitoring, and contribution to treatment planning.

The position requires an LPN with at least 1 year of related experience and understanding of substance use treatment. Per diem scheduling applies, with a Friday/Saturday/Sunday 1:00PM-9:00PM shift pattern.

Qualifications

• LPN license with 1 year related experience.
• Understanding of substance use and/or Methadone treatment is preferred.
• Multicultural sensitivity to clients in treatment.

Responsabilités

• Dispenses physician prescribed medications (non-Methadone and Methadone).
• Reports to the disciplinary team on medical/clinical clients per treatment protocols.
• Develops and conducts health maintenance and educational groups (hygiene, nutrition, substance use).
• Writes progress notes on clients' issues.
• Assesses medical/clinical needs and contributes to treatment planning.
• Conducts initial medical assessment on new admissions.
• Reviews medical charts for regulatory compliance.
• Administers and monitors clients' vital signs.
• Provides emotional support to clients.
• Fills in for other nurses when on leave.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Dispenses medication to clients.

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Dispenses physician prescribed, non-Methadone and Methadone medications.
• Reports to the disciplinary team on medical/clinical clients in response to treatment protocols.
• Develops and conducts health maintenance and educational groups on issues such as hygiene, nutrition and substance use.
• Writes progress notes on clients' issues as indicated.
• Assesses medical/clinical needs of clients, writes progress notes, provides input to Directors, Medical Director, Counselors or Psychiatrists and participates in the treatment planning of the client.
• Conducts initial medical assessment on new admissions.
• Reviews and conducts internal audits of medical charts to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Administers and monitors clients' vital signs.
• Provides emotional support to clients as appropriate.
• Fills in for other nurses who are on leave.
• Performs other duties as assigned from time to time.

SCHEDULE:

Friday/Saturday/Sunday 1:00PM-9:00PM Per Diem flexibility

RATE

$40.00/hour - $40.00/hour
