Job summary

The Clinical Nurse at Tampa General Hospital provides direct, comprehensive nursing care to patients across the continuum of care in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment. You will perform rapid clinical assessments, develop and implement care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes.

Night shift hours are 7pm-7am on site, with a focus on patient safety, infection control, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida.
• Labor and Delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care based on comprehensive assessment of physical, psychosocial, developmental, educational, and spiritual patient needs.
• Develop, implement, document, and communicate goal-directed plans of care.
• Monitor patient status and promptly identify, escalation, and respond to changes requiring clinical intervention.
• Maintain a safe patient care environment and comply with infection control and patient safety standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families to coordinate care and support clinical decision-making.
• Participate in quality improvement, performance improvement, and organizational initiatives.
• Serve as charge nurse or preceptor when assigned, supporting unit operations and staff development.
• Maintain required competencies, continuing education, and mandatory training.
