We seek a registered nurse to support the Delmar Campus behavioral health inpatient program, participate in a multidisciplinary team, and provide high-quality patient care across shifts.

The role emphasizes nursing care, safety, education for patients and families, and collaboration to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation within nursing care standards.
• RN license is required.
• Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and their families on illness management, post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Develops, implements, documents plans of care with goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team.

Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.The Psychiatric Center – Delmar Campus is a behavior health inpatient program that is driven to provide a high level of quality care. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of the St. Louis Community and surrounding areas. The Delmar Campus has two 25 bed units that provide care to anyone requiring treatment in depression, anxiety and behavior health recovery. We have a multidisciplinary team that consist of behavior health nurses, psychiatrist, Medical physicians, social workers, activity staff, music therapist and pharmacy.

• Participates in professional development.Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care.
• Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position.
