We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Oncology Infusion Nurse at City of Hope Lennar Foundation Cancer Center. You will be at the forefront of providing specialized and compassionate care to patients undergoing chemotherapy. This role encompasses a range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the well-being of patients and supporting them through their cancer treatment journey.

Eligible for Sign-On Bonus: $20,000.00

Schedule: Monday through Friday – 4/10 hour shifts. No weekends or holidays.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  1. Assess Patients’ Health Status:
  2. Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health status before, during, and after chemotherapy infusion sessions.
  3. Monitor and document vital signs, symptoms, and overall response to treatment.
  4. Care Planning and Implementation:
  5. Develop comprehensive care plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and treatment regimen.
  6. Implement nursing interventions in line with established care plans, ensuring optimal outcomes.
  7. Chemotherapy Administration:
  8. Administer chemotherapy support to patients and their families regarding the treatment process, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.
  9. Offer emotional support, fostering a caring and empathetic environment for patients facing the challenges of cancer.
  10. Coordination of Care:
  11. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between various stages of treatment.
  12. Schedule and facilitate follow-up appointments, actively participating in the continuity of care.
  13. Management of Side Effects:
  14. Assist patients in managing and coping with side effects and complications arising from cancer treatment.
  15. Proactively address and alleviate symptoms, collaborating with healthcare providers as needed.
  16. Quality Improvement:
  17. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance care provided in the outpatient infusion clinic.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing
  • Three to five years related experience in oncology
  • Current California Registered Nurse license
  • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
  • ONS Chemo/Biotherapy certification
  • National certification (must obtain within three years and maintain thereafter to retain Clin III status)

Compensation: Pay is based on work experience, qualifications, and work location.
