Job summary

Qualifications

• RN licensure in North Carolina required
• Minimum 12 months of relevant clinical experience required
• BSN encouraged to enroll within two years of start date and complete within seven years

Responsibilities

• Perform intake with patients and obtain vital signs and clinical information
• Administer medications as ordered following six rights of administration
• Review education with patients and families based on diagnosis
• Draw blood for lab tests and perform POCT oversight
• Maintain clinical environment in accordance with JCAHO and OSHA standards
• Float to other specialties as needed to cover patient/provider needs
• Participate in performance improvement projects and interdisciplinary teamwork

Job Summary

We are seeking a CLINICAL NURSE in our Vascular Surgery and Vein Clinic located in Raleigh, NC to be accountable for clinical expertise for specific patient populations. The incumbent functions as a clinician, educator, investigator, consultant, and leader. Clinical judgments are based on a synthesis of current research, concepts, principles, theories, and outcomes to solve complex problems. The incumbent functions as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team, contributing to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, and in providing leadership to the organization.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform intake with patients to include vital signs, visit information and other clinical information as indicated.
• Administer medications to patients as ordered by providers or by established protocols following the six rights of medication administration.
• Review education information with patients and families based on diagnosis and per provider request.
• Draw blood for the lab.
• Perform Point of Care testing oversight per established protocols including daily QC.
• Clean and stock room.
• Float in practice to other specialties to cover patient and provider needs as delegated by Health Center Administrator, Nurse Manager, charge nurse or others as delegated by clinic leadership.
• Perform administrative duties such as patient supply forms, prescription refills and other triage tasks as needed.
• Work with multidisciplinary team in procedural environment.
• Participates in performance improvement projects.
• Maintain clinical environment to meet JCAHO and OSHA regulations.
• Other duties as delegate by Practice Administrator, Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, Provider or others as delegated by clinic leadership.

Job Eligibility Requirements

• Work requires graduation from an accredited Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program
  • All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the BSN program within seven years of their start date
    • Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within seven years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification.
• Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required.
• Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.

Job Schedule

Monday-Friday position (no call, weekends, or holidays), 8 hours day shift, 8am-4:30pm.
