Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County seeks a qualified Registered Nurse to provide patient care in the Cardiac Cath lab, IR, and Neuro IR. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans and support discharge readiness.

The role requires floatability across UCI Health locations, at least one year in Interventional Radiology or Cardiac Cath, strong communication, and ability to work variable shifts, including nights and weekends. BSN is required; ACLS/BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of procedural nursing experience in Interventional Radiology or a Cardiac Cath Lab.
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability to perform assigned duties.
• Ability to monitor and circulate, and provide patient care in multiple locations.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Incumbent provides patient care to an assigned group of patients in a procedural area inclusive of Cardiac Cath lab, IR and Neuro IR, ensuring effective collaboration with the interdisciplinary teams in creation and implementation of the plan of care. Performs professional nursing duties that incorporate the psychomotor and age-appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Evaluates patient outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care and readiness for discharge. Participates in unit related projects as needed. Serves as a role model, mentor and resource to other clinical staff in the area and may function as a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) as requested by the supervisor/manager. Required to float to all locations of UCI Health as needed

• One year of procedural nursing experience in Interventional Radiology or a Cardiac Cath Lab.
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must possess skill, knowledge and ability to circulate, monitor patients
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Moderate Sedation Experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
• Ability to cover call shifts (24/7)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements
• Skill, knowledge and ability to provide procedural nursing care during electrophysiology procedures and/ or device implant procedures
• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
• Knowledge and practical application of hemodynamic monitoring
• Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families

Licenses and Certifications:
