Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator for the Immediate Care Center to lead onboarding, competency programs, and ongoing clinical education. This salaried role requires collaboration with nursing leadership to improve patient care across ICC clinics.

The educator will design, implement, and evaluate training initiatives, promote evidence-informed practice, and mentor staff toward expert clinical performance. Travel is required to support multi-site education efforts.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensed in Illinois (IL).
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (AHA).
• MSN or BSN with Master’s in education; candidates with at least 50% of a Master’s degree will be considered.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant clinical experience.
• Ability to develop, implement and evaluate educational plans focusing on adult learning.

Responsibilities

• Onboarding and competency programs: develop, coordinate, administer and evaluate.
• Conduct onboarding, training and competency evaluation for staff.
• Develop and evaluate initial onboarding programs and establish competencies.
• Evaluate staff orientation and identify further instructional needs.
• Support professional development and evidence-based education initiatives.
• Coordinate education records and ensure continuing staff competence.
