Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator for Surgical Services to lead education, mentorship, and staff development. This full-time role supports onboarding, builds educational resources, and promotes evidence-based practice across the surgical nursing team.

Ideal candidates hold a BSN (MSN preferred), an active RN license, and at least 3 years of OR experience with certification due within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN preferred.
• Current RN license.
• Previous OR experience required; minimum 3 years clinical practice in area of specialization.
• RN certification in a relevant specialty required within six months of hire.
• Previous education, precepting, or mentoring experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

What We Offer

Clinical Nurse Educator – Surgical Services

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

The Clinical Nurse Educator – Surgical Services is a key member of the clinical education team and supports the ongoing development of nursing staff within the Surgical Services. This role promotes clinical excellence through education, mentorship, and staff development initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Provide education and training to Surgical Services nursing staff.
• Lead new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
• Develop and update educational materials and learning resources.
• Mentor and support new graduate nurses and staff members.
• Round on the unit to provide bedside education and clinical support.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Graduate degree preferred; MSN preferred.

• Previous Operating Room (OR) experience required. Minimum of 3 years of clinical practice in area of specialization, required.
• RN professional certification in a relevant specialty required within six (6) months of hire.
• Previous education, precepting, or mentoring experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
