Position Summary
Provides leadership for clinical education, orientation, competency validation, evidence-based practice, regulatory readiness, and professional development programs that promote safe, high-quality patient care.
Essential Functions
- 1. Develop and implement an annual clinical education plan aligned with organizational goals.
- 2. Coordinate new employee orientation and department-specific onboarding alongside human resources as needed.
- 3. Develop, maintain, and validate annual competencies.
- 4. Coordinate Clinical Skills Days.
- 5. Coordinate monthly simulation activities with skills competencies included.
- 5. Administer learning assignments, monitor completion, and maintain compliance tracking through the organization’s educational platform.
- 6. Maintain education records for CMS, DNV, OSHA, and state requirements.
- 7. Lead evidence-based practice initiatives and policy education.
- 8. Develop and support preceptors, charge nurses, and emerging leaders.
- 9. Collaborate with Quality, Infection Prevention, and Clinical Managers to address educational needs.
- 10. Evaluate education outcomes using quality metrics and staff feedback.
- 11. Maintain instructor certifications and provide BLS/ACLS/PALS education as appropriate.
- 12. Serve as a clinical resource and mentor across departments.
Qualifications
- BSN required; MSN preferred.
- Current Idaho RN license.
- Minimum 8 years’ acute and emergency care experience required.
- Must have provided direct patient care in a clinical setting within the past 3 years
- Familiarity with additional clinical areas, including Radiology, Laboratory, Infusion, Family Medicine, and Surgical Services, is preferred but not required.
- Clinical educator experience preferred.
- Instructor certifications are preferred or obtained within one year.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift to 25 pounds, and demonstrate clinical skills as needed.
Working Conditions
- Potential exposure to blood and body fluids. May require occasional evening or weekend work.
