Job summary

HCA HealthONE Aurora seeks an experienced OR Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge RN) to lead nursing care and coordination in the OR. You will direct, monitor and evaluate OR nursing activities during your shift, serving as a resource to the team and ensuring high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Current Colorado RN license or multi-state RN license.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• ACLS and PALS certifications.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Two years of acute care OR RN experience.
• Previous charge nurse/service coordinator experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as resource and liaison between OR team, surgeons, and vendors.
• Assist with overall patient care management in the OR; supervise staff and coach/hire.
• Ensure department compliance with state, federal, and regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate with surgical team to prepare procedures and verify OR schedule.
• Work with schedulers to streamline OR flow.
• Position requires call.
• Weekend scheduling only; additional differentials apply.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

As a n OperatingR o m Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge RN) you will be part of an amazing interdisciplinary team environment.You will work u n der the general supervision of the uni t’s director and you will assume responsibility for the direction and the coordinat ion of all functions in the OR Department on your designated shifts.You will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessa r y to provide care to patients and to provide direction and supervisions to other staff caring for patients.

• As an operating room (OR) Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) you willdemonstrate skills as a resource person and liaison between the specialty team members, other staff members, surgeons, and vendors.
• You will assist with the overall management of patient care in the OR,supervisesall staff,assistwithperformanceevaluations,counselingandcoachingofstaff,hiring,anddaytodayoperationalsupervision.
• You will be responsible forensuring department compliance with state, federal, and healthcare regulatory agencies.
• You will work closely with other Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNCs) to ensure that surgical procedures performed by specialty team members or other surgery staff members are thoroughly prepared prior to surgery.
• The Clinical Nurse Coordinator verifies the accuracy of preference cards and the OR schedule.
• The Clinical Nurse Coordinator works closely with the surgery schedulers to streamline and verify the flow of the OR schedule.
• This position requires call
• This position is for weekend scheduling only. Additional differentials are applied.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• ACLS and PALS certification.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.BSN preferred.
• Two (2) years of acute care experience as an Operating Room (OR) RN.
• Previous charge nurse/service coordinator experience.
