WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking qualified nursing staff to deliver specialized care and coordinate comprehensive patient plans in a fast-paced setting. The role includes direct hands-on care, triage, and acting as a liaison across departments to ensure testing, referrals, and scheduling are efficiently managed.

• Current RN license in the state where services will be provided or a multi-state RN license via eNLC.
• Background check (state) and federal if applicable.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Provide hands-on nursing assistance as needed for department, patient and provider needs.
• Act as first contact for patients, performing triage and providing medical advice where applicable.
• Coordinate plan of care and liaise between providers, departments, other healthcare professionals and schedulers.
• Monitor and manage patient appointments, testing and labs for the patient population.
• Assist with obtaining prior-authorizations for the patient population.
• Prepare educational material for patient use and educate/counsel patients.
• Provide specialized nursing assistance in research efforts when applicable.
• Offer guidance to nursing staff on units caring for the same patient population.
• Attend conferences or training to stay up-to-date.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Provide specialized care to specific patient populations to optimize care and experience. Coordinates the plan of care and acts as a liaison between providers, departments, other healthcare professionals and schedulers to coordinate testing, scheduling, referrals etc.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).

2. State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas.

1. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Two years’ experience as an RNORfive years’ experience as an LPN required.

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor’s Degree innursing(BSN).

2. Certification relevant to the specialized care they will be providing.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provides hands on assistance according tothedepartment, patient and provider needs,including but not limited to assisting with procedures, performing tests,preparing oradministering patient medications, obtaining specimens.

2. Act as first contact for patients,providing triaging and medical advice where applicable.

3. Coordinatesthe plan of careand acts as a liaison between providers, departments, other healthcare professionals and schedulers to coordinate testing, scheduling, referrals etc.

4. Monitors and manages patient’s appointments, testing and labs necessary for thepatient population.

5. Assists with obtaining prior-authorizations for thepatient population.

6. Prepares educational material for patient use. Educatesand counselspatients concerningmedical condition, medication or treatment.

7. Providesspecialized nursing assistance in research efforts when applicable.

8. Provides advice, education and consultation services to nursing staff of any unit that care for the same patient population

9. Attends conferences or educational opportunities to ensure up to date knowledge.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Heavy/Hard work : Work requires strength and/or stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching,

positioning of patients, standing, walking, carrying of patients, materials and equipment weighing

35+lbs.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

1. Position is frequently exposed to blood and bodily fluids; possible exposure to harmful toxins. There is regular exposure to communicable disease.

2. Travel may be necessary in departments with multiple locations.
