Salem Health's Psychiatric Patient Services department is seeking a part-time clinical nurse to deliver age-appropriate assessments and personalized care plans in a 12-hour shift model. The role emphasizes crisis management, documentation, safe transitions, and collaborative teamwork within a dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will hold an Oregon RN license (or obtain prior to start date), have a BSN or ADN with BSN/MSN plan, and possess BLS certification plus at least one year of RN

• BSN or ADN with commitment to obtain BSN/MSN within three years of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current unencumbered RN license in Oregon or ability to obtain before start date.
• Minimum of one year of RN staff nurse experience.

Schedule: 7:00 am - 7:30 pm, 12 hour shifts, variable scheduled days

As a clinical nurse in psychiatric patient services, you'll play a vital role in delivering comprehensive, age-appropriate assessments, developing personalized care plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions that support both patients and their families. What you'll do

• Conducts continuous, age-appropriate assessments of each patient, considering medical, social, cultural, and educational history to inform care decisions.
• Delivers evidence-based, patient-centered care based on individualized treatment plans, while prioritizing safety and responding effectively to emergencies.
• Develops and adjusts holistic care plans with input from patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring smooth transitions and appropriate discharge planning.
• Accurately documents all aspects of care, including assessments, interventions, patient responses, and education to support quality and continuity.
• Shares complete, timely, and clear information with team members and actively listens to ensure mutual understanding.
• Supports unit operations through participation in shared decision-making, mentorship, and charge nurse responsibilities, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Maintains a safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols, managing supplies efficiently, and demonstrating flexibility to meet unit needs.

Required qualifications

• Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Non nursing Bachelors Degree with Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) - ADN graduates required to sign agreement to complete BSN or MSN within three years of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Current unencumbered licensure to practice nursing as a registered nurse in the state of Oregon or able to obtain prior to start date.
• Minimum one year of RN staff nurse experience.
