Hours: Full-Time 3/12s, Rotating Shift, Weekend rotation every 3rd weekend

Unit Description: 5NW is a medicine unit with telemetry monitoring capability throughout. We are a 25-bed unit with 21 private and 4 semi-private rooms. The population served includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as COPD, CHF, Sickle Cell Disease, CKD/AKI, DM, anemia, GI bleeding, wounds, stroke, sepsis, and other complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Practice as a full partner on the healthcare team, demonstrating safe practice within the organizational professional practice model.
• Possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude to meet standards for competent professional nursing practice as specified in the Clinical Nurse 2 position description addendum.
• Exhibit UPHS organizational behavioral competencies aligned with its mission, embedded in the professional practice domains.
• Independently provide patient care through the application of the nursing process, accepting accountability for the nursing care of assigned patients, ranging in age from infancy to the elderly.
• Work within the competency domains of Continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence-Based Practice and Research, Leadership, Person and Family Centered Care, Professionalism, Safety, Technology/Informatics, and Teamwork.
• Collaborate closely with the interprofessional healthcare team to coordinate care across the continuum, focusing on individualized care based on physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age-appropriate considerations.
• Seek feedback and assume leadership roles, demonstrating how nursing practice impacts organizational vision, mission, and goals, while complying with all regulations and standards.
