12 City Oncology Unit

Our 36-bed medical oncology unit provides care to patients with complex oncologic diagnoses. Nurses are trained in chemotherapy and biotherapy delivery, autologous stem cell transplant, and clinical research trials. Through these relationships, staff offers compassionate care to patients and families throughout their cancer journey.

Position: Clinical Nurse 2

The Clinical Nurse 2 practices as a full partner on the healthcare team, demonstrating safe practice within organizational standards. They possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude to meet professional nursing standards as outlined in the position description addendum. The nurse exhibits UPHS organizational behavioral competencies aligned with its mission and professional practice domains.

The nurse independently provides patient care, applying the nursing process and accepting accountability for the care of assigned patients, ranging from infancy to elderly. They work closely with the interprofessional team to coordinate care across the continuum, focusing on individualized care considering physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age-related factors.

The nurse seeks feedback and provides input to improve clinical practice, demonstrating how nursing impacts the organization's mission, vision, and goals. Compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards is required.

Credentials

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 15 months relevant professional nursing experience and completion of the Nurse Residency Program, if applicable.
