Job Title: Clinical Nurse 1

Location: Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania - Cedar Avenue, Philadelphia, PA

Department: 5 North West Med Surg

Hours: Full Time, Rotating, every 3rd weekend

Summary:

  • The Clinical Nurse 1 is a newly licensed RN with less than 15 months of experience, demonstrating basic safe practice within organizational standards.
  • The role involves providing direct care to patients of all ages, working closely with the healthcare team, and developing skills to care for increasingly complex patients.
  • Must complete all Clinical Nurse 1 competencies and aim to advance to Clinical Nurse 2 within 18 months.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize data and quality improvement methods to ensure safe, timely, efficient, effective, and equitable care.
  • Evaluate and incorporate current evidence into practice, considering patient and family preferences.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team, applying innovative and systems thinking to promote effective changes.
  • Provide person and family-centered care respecting patient preferences and needs.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, safety, teamwork, and effective use of technology/informatics.

Credentials:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS/CPR) as per American Heart Association
  • Registered Nurse license in PA

Education or Experience:
