WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh, NC is taking applications for a full-time clinical Rehabilitation Neuropsychologist. This provider will work with patients across the Rehab Division at WakeMed Raleigh Campus, which includes inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient neuro intensive rehab. Primary responsibilities include active interdisciplinary team participation and direct patient care, including health and behavior assessment with medical patients, consultations with staff, education, and interventions as needed. The successful applicant will have specialty training in both rehabilitation psychology and neuropsychological assessment and have medical center/hospital and/or interdisciplinary treatment team experience. An applicant with lifespan skills would be given greater consideration but this is not a requirement. This person would be credentialed though the hospital’s Medical Staff Services as an independent provider of services.
WakeMed’s Neuropsychology Department currently has 7 Neuropsychologists. The duties of the Rehabilitation Neuropsychologist would split time between primary rehab psych assessment and intervention as well as comprehensive neuropsychological assessment. Primary populations served at WakeMed include stroke, amputee, brain injury, spinal cord injury, mild cognitive impairment, dementia and more. In addition to inpatient services, we also have a thriving outpatient practice specializing in evaluation of neurologically involved patients with primary referral sources from PM&R, Neurology, and PCP’s.
The work environment within the Neuropsychology Department at WakeMed is collegial with a very reasonable workload expectation. No weekends or call. We are looking for someone who in addition to having the required training and clinical skills, has the ability to be a team player and who has excellent interpersonal skills.
