Job summary

MaineHealth seeks a Clinical Medical Physicist to join a growing Radiation Oncology program serving Southern and Coastal Maine, with primary duties at Maine Medical Center in Portland and the new Mid Coast Cancer Center in Brunswick.

You will support external beam radiotherapy, brachytherapy, and advanced imaging, while helping launch new CT simulation, image guidance, and stereotactic capabilities across sites. Collaboration with physicians, dosimetrists, therapists, and vendors is essential.

Qualifications

• CAMPEP-residency graduate or board-certified physicist.
• Experience with external beam, brachytherapy, and imaging.
• Strong collaboration with clinicians, dosimetrists, and therapists.

Responsibilities

• Support external beam radiation therapy, stereotactic treatments, brachytherapy, imaging, simulation, and treatment delivery.
• Perform treatment planning support, dose calculations, patient-specific QA, and physics plan review.
• Maintain QA programs and participate in equipment commissioning, validation, and technology implementation.
• Collaborate with physicians, dosimetrists, therapists, physicists, IT, engineering, and vendor partners.
• Contribute to patient safety, quality improvement, and workflow standardization.
