Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year MA work experience in the last 2 years.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Summons and prepares patient for office visit.
• Assists the physician with medical office procedures.
• Administers medication, including injections; documents medication given or prescribed by ordering physicians as required by specialty.
• Adheres to nursing policy and procedure when documenting information in patient's medical record.
• Maintains the integrity of the office.
• Performs additional duties specific to the specialty, and/or acquires additional license or credentials.
• Reads and references new policies and nursing newsletters and assumes responsibility for maintaining current CPR certification.
