Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital in Mansfield, OH seeks a Full-Time Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support under the supervision of a Provider and/or licensed Nurse.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, phlebotomy as needed, charting in EPIC, patient scheduling, and ensuring clean, stocked exam rooms. Requires a Medical Assistant program completion and BLS; hospital EPIC experience preferred. Onsite role with a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant Program or EMT/Paramedic program required.
• BLS training through American Heart Association required.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Experience with phlebotomy and EPIC or similar EMR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and record vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy as needed and administer medications as directed.
• Collect and process laboratory specimens per policy.
• Document care in EPIC accurately and timely.
• Assist with appointment scheduling and patient flow.
• Maintain exam rooms and stock supplies.
• Develop positive relationships with patients and families.
