Job summary

Roper St. Francis Healthcare is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide multi-skilled clinical support under physician direction.

You will document patient information, take vitals, administer medications, and assist with both in-person and virtual visits in a fast-paced setting. Requirements include active MA certification (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA or ABR-OE acceptable), BLS at hire, and completion of a MA program (SC-specific options).

Qualifications

• Active Medical Assisting certification required: CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA or ABR-OE acceptable (SC disclaimer)
• BLS certification required at hire for locations or prior to independent patient care
• High school diploma or GED required; MA program preferred where applicable in state
• 1 year of recent Medical Assisting experience preferred
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy clinical environment

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient examinations and procedures
• Record vital signs, medications, and patient data
• Document in EMR/EHR accurately and timely
• Manage patient communications and front desk tasks as needed
• Support virtual health visits and pre-charting of visits
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of clinical areas
• Handle referrals, appointments, and patient education as directed
