Job summary

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinical operations and patient flow within the unit or physician practice.

You will perform clinical duties such as vitals, medical histories, venipuncture, wound care, EKGs, and specimen collection while maintaining regulatory standards and patient privacy. Administrative tasks include registration, transcription, and coordination between departments.

Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma from a Medical Assistant program.
• Completion of an internship in qualified physicians' offices or hospitals.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Minimum one year of venipuncture, wound care and related procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage patient flow with professionalism.
• Perform clinical duties including vitals, histories, and room prep.
• Carry out venipuncture, specimen collection, wound care and basic EKG.
• Assist with exams and prepare/clean equipment as directed.
