Job summary

MetroDerm is seeking a Medical Assistant in Alpharetta, GA. This full-time clinical role supports licensed providers in clinic and surgical settings, delivering safe, compassionate care and may float to multiple locations.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of medical-setting experience and CPR certification; Medical Assistant certification is preferred. Responsibilities include patient prep, vitals, specimen collection, documentation, medications, and assisting procedures.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in a medical setting.
• CPR certification is required.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a patient advocate during patient exam and treatment
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician following safety protocol of right dose, right patient, right route, right drug and noting expiration date
• Collect blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, wound care instructions and physicians' instructions to patients
• Assist physician with surgical procedure while maintaining sterile field
• Maintain patient confidentiality and data integrity in accordance with HIPAA
• Participate in department or unit quality improvement activities
