Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a busy practice by maintaining efficient patient flow, performing vital signs, phlebotomy as needed, vaccines, and assisting with procedures under the provider's supervision.

The role also covers room preparation, front desk tasks, scheduling, referrals, and obtaining paperwork from referring offices, with emphasis on patient education, communication, and high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• BLS certification required; CMA certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and escort to exam rooms in a professional manner.
• Assist with procedures under supervision of MD/NP/PA.
• Take vital signs and document them accurately.
• Support administrative tasks: scheduling, referrals, and chart processing.
• Ensure infection control, instrument cleaning, and sterilization standards.
• Coordinate room rotations and assist with front desk duties as needed.
