Job summary

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical operations at VIP - Rivergate Clinical Staff. After graduating from a medical assistant program, you will assist providers with office examinations and procedures, organize patient flow, collect screening data, and perform in-office diagnostic testing such as EKGs.

You will also educate patients and families, prepare rooms and instruments, schedule appointments, triage calls and emails, and support referral processes.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Medical Assistant program with ability to perform office exams and procedures.
• Organizes clinic patient flow and documents screening data.
• Experience with in-office diagnostic testing (e.g., EKGs, X-rays) preferred.
• Strong teamwork and ability to multitask in a busy clinic.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by guiding patients from waiting rooms to exam areas.
• Gathers screening data and supports provider with examinations.
• Schedule appointments, triage calls, and manage referrals.
• Maintain patient charts and prepare diagnostic requisitions.
• Communicate effectively with the health care team and patients.
• Adhere to safety, privacy, and quality standards.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in quality improvement.
• All other duties as assigned.
