Job summary

Heart Center of North Texas PA in Weatherford, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced medical office. You will prepare exam rooms, assist providers, document vitals in NextGen, and ensure patient education and discharge instructions are delivered with empathy.

The role requires confidentiality, strong communication, and the ability to travel to satellite locations as needed, with a daytime schedule in a full-time capacity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (required).
• Current BLS certification (required).
• Prior MA experience or externship preferred.
• Ability to travel to satellite locations as needed (Fort Worth schedule).

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with patient care and procedures.
• Obtain and document patient vital signs and medical history in EMR (NextGen).
• Explain procedures and treatments to patients to promote understanding.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by provider.
• Observe and document patient conditions, reporting changes to provider.
• Assist with patient education and discharge instructions.
• Schedule diagnostic tests and procedures ordered by provider.
• Answer and triage patient calls; respond to tests, results, and medications questions.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality at all times.
• Support clinic operations across locations and maintain workflow.
