Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Medical Assisting preferred
• Direct MA experience or medical field work 1–2 years required
• BLS Certification; CMA certification preferred
• Experience with infectious disease protocols and patient privacy rules as applicable

Responsibilities

• Shows patients to examination rooms, prepares equipment, and interviews patients to obtain medical information and vital signs.
• Records information in the patient’s medical record and explains treatment procedures and physician instructions.
• Performs basic office duties and assists with insurance forms while liaising with other departments.
• Collects blood and other specimens, logs them, and prepares them for testing; phlebotomy if competent.
• Maintains immunization inventories and assists with vaccine administration when qualified.
• Supports quality initiatives like two patient identifiers and hand hygiene.
