Job summary

Miami Neuroscience Institute Baptist Health South Florida is seeking a Medical Assistant to assist in examinations and patient care under physician and clinician direction. You will support patient care management and perform administrative tasks essential to clinic operations.

The role includes handling calls, immunizations, chart preparation, data gathering for reports, billing support, and EMR documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or possession of one of the listed licenses/certifications.
• Minimum 3 years Medical Assistant experience or 5 years with one of the licenses/certifications.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required and active during employment.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones, route calls, take and relay messages.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by provider.
• Prepare and administer immunizations for primary care sites as directed.
• Communicate significant changes in patient conditions to clinicians.
• Maintain complete medical records and charting for appointments.
• Schedule appointments and verify authorizations; process referrals and insurance data.
• Assist physician with procedures and patient transport; collect specimens and distribute to the lab.
• Enter electronic orders for labs, X-ray, and medications in the EMR.
