Qualifications

• Interviews patients and records history with accuracy.
• Verifies demographics, insurance, vitals and medications in intake.
• Goes beyond greeting to assist patients professionally and courteously.
• Collects lab specimens and documents results per protocols.
• Prepares patients for examinations and assists providers with procedures.
• Completes pre-visit planning and documents patient plans in the system.
• Administers medications per formulary and per standing orders.
• Dismisses patients and closes orders in the EHR.
• Participates in orientation and teamwork to coordinate care.
• Manages referrals, authorizations and scheduling; follows up on tests.
• Maintains clinical areas and prepares instruments for sterilization.

Responsibilities

• Interview patient and record history; measure vital signs.
• Verify and enter patient data into EHR/EPM; greet and assist patients.
• Collect and report CLIA-waived lab tests; collect specimens.
• Prepare patients for exams; assist with procedures and room setup.
• Perform pre-visit planning; administer medications under orders.
• Dismiss patient; complete orders and patient plan in system.
• Coordinate referrals, authorizations and scheduling; follow up results.
• Maintain a clean clinical environment; scribe when needed.
