Job summary

Independence Health System's Rural Health Clinic in New Bethlehem, PA is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform basic direct patient care under the supervision of nurses and physicians. You will assist with lab tests, treatments, immunizations, and prepare patients for examinations while maintaining accurate documentation.

You will collect patient data, enter demographics and codes into billing, support clerical tasks, ensure infection control, and help with scheduling and education.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or higher education.
• Strong leadership ability, organizational skills, independent and critical thinking, good judgment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care per policies and procedures.
• Collect patient data (VS, weight, chief complaint, pain) as directed.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures; document accurately and timely.
• Enter patient demographics and insurance information; code diagnoses and charges.
• Provide clerical support for patient care and office functions; maintain infection control.
