Job summary

University of Utah Health seeks a multi-skilled auxiliary worker to support patient care across clinics. The role includes preparing patients, assisting licensed staff, and performing select phlebotomy and basic procedures under supervision.

Expect to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 health system with rotating shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays as needed. Compliance with infection control and safety training is required.

Qualifications

• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential within 30 days of hire.
• One of several Utah health professional certifications (EMT, CMA, Paramedic, RMA, NCMA, NCCT, NHA).
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and assist with patient care per scope.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures per clinic protocol.
• Perform CLIA waved lab tests and report results to staff.
• Assist with injections, catheterization, suture removal, and basic procedures.
• Chaperone providers during examinations and help with duties as directed.
• Support clerical tasks: medical records, appointment scheduling, and billing entries.
