Job summary

University of Utah Health is seeking a patient-focused team member to provide assistive care and clerical support in a 24/7 health system. The role involves direct patient care, phlebotomy, specimen handling, and assisting licensed staff in procedures under supervision.

The ideal candidate demonstrates flexibility for rotating shifts, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment. Training and credentialing are provided where required.

Qualifications

• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• One of the following: NRCMA, CMA (AAMA), NCMA, RMA (AMT), ABR-OE (AAMA), CMA (AAMA) or NCMA.
• Demonstrated phlebotomy skills.
• Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills.
• Ability to withstand the physical demands of standing for long periods and moving patients.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to clinic procedures.
• Reports all observed patient concerns and changes in condition to a licensed staff member.
• May perform patient phlebotomies after specialized training.
• May apply leads and monitors for diagnostic procedures under supervision.
• Attends mandatory education including infection prevention, safety, CPR and equipment usage.
• May assist with transportation of patients to departments as directed by licensed staff.
• Rotating schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.
