Job summary

Avera Prairie Center-Sioux Falls is hiring a Medical Assistant to perform clinical and clerical tasks in a busy clinic setting. You will support providers, document procedures, and help manage patient flow while contributing to a patient-centered care environment.

Qualifications

• CCMA, CMA, RMA, or NCMA certification upon hire
• Associate's degree or MA program diploma preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists in care to patients as directed by provider based on competency
• Provides accurate, completed, legible and timely documentation of all patient procedures in the medical record
• Maintains timely flow of patients
• Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests and educates on procedures, meds, nutrition, disease processes and wellness
• Greets patients and conducts clinical interview collecting history and vital signs
• Labels and processes lab specimens according to lab procedures
• Maintains exam room and performs cleaning and equipment maintenance, handles bio-hazardous waste
• Back-up support for front desk: phones, scheduling, cancellations
