Job summary

Neighborhood Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant for its General Medicine team on a temporary basis. The role supports providers, nurses, and care teams to deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinic.

The position requires a valid Medical Assistant certificate and BLS certification; bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred. On-site hours are Monday–Friday with a temporary assignment through June 2027.

Qualifications

• Valid Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire and must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and performs clinical care services with patients.
• Takes patient vital signs and obtains patient intake information.
• Performs clinical procedures such as blood draws, vaccines, nebulizer treatments, ear lavages, and EKGs.
• Discusses patient needs and provides education and resources to patients directly.
• Ensures exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and set up for examinations and procedures.
• Coordinates provider workflows to ensure efficient patient care.
• Assists other providers and care teams in women’s health, pediatrics and general medicine departments as needed.
• Utilizes electronic health records to order, process and document clinical treatment plans for patient as directed by the provider.
• Conveys information to patients via telephone or email under the direction of a provider or Registered Nurse.
