Summary

Manages the daily operations of the assigned department, unit, or function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. May provide direct care to patients.

Responsibilities
  • Manage staff relations, including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict resolution. Oversee scheduling, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
  • Assess the quality of patient care; evaluate patient and family needs; provide patient and family-centered care. Handle complaints and conflicts to resolution.
  • Develop departmental goals, standards, and objectives supporting the strategic plan and organizational vision.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance; oversee systems, equipment, supplies; monitor usage and equipment condition.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on assessments to optimize outcomes and resource utilization; monitor and communicate patient condition.
Competencies

Accountability, analysis and decision-making, customer service, develop and implement plan of care, managing people, patient and family-centered care, patient safety, professional credibility, responding to change, standards of behavior.

Education and Certification Requirements

Accredited Nursing Program. Certifications include ACLS, BLS, RN License (State of Florida or Compact), among others listed.
