Job summary

The Eye Associates, part of Eye Health America, is seeking a Clinical Manager to lead a clinical department, oversee quality assurance, and manage staff in a growing ophthalmology practice. Responsibilities include coordinating with physicians, supervising front desk and clinical staff, maintaining OSHA compliance, and optimizing clinic operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Monitor calibration logs and train staff.
  • Review invoices for back-office supplies and process payments.
  • Prepare shift plans for doctors and clinics.
  • Approve time-off and manage the calendar.
  • Adjust staff schedules to minimize overtime.
  • Support ophthalmic technicians and triage patient calls.
  • Mentor Clinical Leads and Front Staff on protocols.

The Eye Associates, an affiliate of Eye Health America, is a growing, multi-specialty ophthalmology practice. The Clinical Manager plays a key role in the effective functioning of a clinical department or unit within a healthcare organization. This position involves supervisory responsibilities, quality assurance, staff management, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals to maintain and improve patient care standards.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Communicate effectively with all patients in a professional and courteous manner, act as a role model to fellow employees.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
  • Be able to step in and assist where needed in clinic and front desk.
  • Answer patient questions, including telephone inquiries. Responsible for handling all patient complaints, assessing situations, and resolving problems.
  • Responsible for all clinic equipment; ensure it is functioning properly; request repairs and maintenance, as needed.
  • Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the physician, altering the test sequence as required; communicate with the doctors if they are behind schedule.
  • Order all back-office supplies.
  • Responsible for OSHA policies and procedures; maintain updated OSHA manual, including Bio Hazard and CLIA permits and annual renewals.
  • Monitor all calibration logs and ensure calibration is completed on time and all staff is properly trained to calibrate.
  • Review invoices for back-office supplies to make sure they are accurate; submit to Payables for payment.
  • Prepare shift planning for each doctor and clinic per day.
  • Approve time-off requests and maintain the Time-off Calendar.
  • Review staff overtime hours and adjust staff schedule to reduce.
  • Provide additional support to ophthalmic technicians, including triaging phone calls from patients, returning patient phone calls, prescription refills, and contact lens calls.
  • Mentor Clinical Leads and Front Staff to ensure adherence to protocols.

Requirements
