Description:

Position Purpose:

Serves as a clinical expert to ensure patient care needs are met, safe care is provided, quality measures are attained, and an exceptional care experience is delivered. Acts as an expert clinician resource, mentoring colleagues in all aspects of patient care and providing ongoing professional development. Provides day-to-day leadership to align patient and family needs with human (colleague) and material resources within the department and organization through collaboration with others.

What you will Do:

1. Supervise and coordinate patient care on the unit.
2. Ensure daily compliance with patient care, quality, and safety standards through caring and leader rounding, leader standard work (Mercy Way), and service recovery as needed.
3. Mentor colleagues by promoting critical thinking in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
4. Collaborate with Clinical Manager, PRU Clinical Leader, and Physicians to promote clinical and professional development of colleagues by identifying educational needs, sharing clinical knowledge, and structuring educational plans.
5. Assist in interviewing, hiring, orienting, developing, and evaluating staff performance in collaboration with the clinical manager/director.

Hours/Schedule:

Full Time 40 hrs., Days, Call Rotation

Minimum Qualifications:
