Position Purpose:

Serves as a clinical expert to ensure patient care needs are met, safe care is provided, quality measures are attained, and an exceptional care experience is delivered. Acts as a resource and mentor for colleagues in all aspects of patient care, fostering ongoing professional development. Provides leadership to align patient and family needs with available resources through collaboration within the department and organization.

What you will do:

  • Supervise and coordinate patient care on the care unit.
  • Ensure daily compliance with patient care, quality, and safety standards through rounding, standard work, and service recovery as needed.
  • Mentor and coach colleagues, promoting critical thinking in patient care planning and evaluation.
  • Support regulatory, risk management, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
  • Model professional nursing practices, advocating for lifelong learning and evidence-based care.
  • Assess and evaluate patients' physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, social, and educational needs, documenting responses and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to achieve care goals.
  • Guide patient care activities using clinical judgment and evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with educators and leadership to promote professional development by identifying educational needs and structuring learning experiences.

Hours/Schedule:

Full Time, 36 hours/week, Day Shift, 7am - 7:30pm

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in Iowa.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or commitment to complete within 5 years.
  • Preferred Master's degree in nursing or related field.
  • At least three years of relevant nursing experience.
  • Professional certification in a clinical specialty.
