Job summary

Labcorp in Raritan, NJ is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join our team. The role supports routine and complex testing under supervision, with a Monday–Friday night shift 11:00 pm–7:30 am.

You will perform procedures, monitor instrumentation, prepare reagents, and report results to ensure high-quality patient care. A bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science is required, with ASCP/AMT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification (preferred).
• In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

• Pay Range: $25.19 - $39.09 per hour + shift differential
