Job description

Clinical Laboratory Technologist Trainee - Litholink

Join us at Labcorp as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist Trainee - Litholink in Itasca, IL. We are seeking motivated individuals to start or advance their careers in clinical laboratory science.

At Litholink, part of LabCorp's specialty testing group, we are leaders in kidney stone prevention, working directly with patients, urologists, and medical centers. With 25 years of experience, we help providers manage and treat kidney stones.

Work Schedule:

Monday 2:00pm-10:30pm, Tuesday 2:00pm-10:30pm, Wednesday OFF, Thursday 2:00pm-10:30 pm, Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm, Saturday 9:00am-5:30pm

Pay Rate:

$23.80/hour plus a 2nd shift differential

Benefits:

Eligible employees working 20+ hours/week receive Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), PTO/FTO, Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Part-time employees working less than 20 hours can participate in the 401(k).

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological sciences, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory requirements
  • Previous testing experience not required
  • ASCP or AMT certification preferred
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Proficient with computers; familiarity with LIS is a plus
  • Attention to detail, strong communication, organizational skills
  • Able to pass a color vision test
  • Flexibility for overtime/shifts as needed
Responsibilities:
  • Assess specimen acceptability
  • Perform routine and complex testing per SOPs
  • Operate and troubleshoot lab instruments
  • Make technical decisions regarding testing
  • Prepare and evaluate reagents and controls
  • Report accurate results promptly
  • Maintain quality control and preventative maintenance
  • Replenish supplies and assist with specimen processing
  • Maintain a safe work environment
