NeoGenomics is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist for our Flow department in Ramsey, NJ who is eager to learn and contribute to our company's growth.

Shift time: Monday-Friday, overnight shifts (exact times to be determined, subject to change)

Position Summary:

The Clinical Laboratory Technologist works under general supervision, performing complex laboratory procedures and handling all types of specimens submitted for processing tasks assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform clinical laboratory tests proficiently, exercising independent judgment in the assigned specialty.
  • Follow procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analysis, and reporting, maintaining accurate records.
  • Ensure proficiency testing samples are tested similarly to patient specimens.
  • Assess specimen acceptability, prepare clinical specimens, and identify related problems per SOP guidelines.
  • Analyze specimens using approved procedures.
  • Review and release test results, reporting STAT or Critical results to physicians per SOP.
  • Perform and document Quality Control on reagents, equipment, and assays, addressing QC failures appropriately.
  • Document corrective actions when test systems deviate from performance standards.
  • Prepare stock solutions, reagents, and cocktails, testing and evaluating them as per SOPs.

Experience, Education, and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Alternatively, a degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences with at least one year of laboratory experience or training.
  • 1+ years of high-complexity testing experience preferred.
  • Certification requirements vary by state:
    • ASCP certification for the specific specialty (if available).
    • Current state license to perform laboratory testing (e.g., Clinical Laboratory Technologist in FL, Clinical Laboratory Scientist or related in CA, Medical Lab Professional in TN).
