Shift: Tuesday-Saturday, Evenings (exact hours to be determined, subject to change)

Position Summary:

The Clinical Laboratory Technologist works under general supervision, performing complex laboratory procedures and handling all types of specimens submitted for testing.

Responsibilities:

• Perform clinical laboratory tests proficiently, exercising independent judgment in the assigned specialty.
• Follow procedures for specimen handling, testing, and reporting; maintain accurate records.
• Ensure proficiency testing samples are tested like patient specimens.
• Assess specimen acceptability, prepare specimens, and identify related issues per SOP guidelines.
• Analyze specimens using approved procedures.
• Review and release test results; report STAT or Critical results per SOP.
• Perform and document Quality Control; recognize and address QC failures.
• Document corrective actions for deviations from performance standards.
• Prepare reagents and solutions as per SOPs, evaluate, and document results.

Experience, Education, and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related science from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Alternatively, a degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences with at least one year of laboratory experience.
• 1+ years of high-complexity testing experience preferred.
• Certification and licensing requirements vary by state:
• ASCP certification for the specialty (if available).
• Current state license to perform laboratory testing (e.g., Clinical Laboratory Technologist in FL, Clinical Laboratory Scientist or equivalent in CA, Medical Lab Professional in TN).
